Nature-Based Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Individual Services Coming Fall 2026 • Waitlist Open

Therapy should connect with the life your child is living.

Individual Nature-Based OT begins in Fall 2026 for children and families in Paragould and Northeast Arkansas—helping children build resilience, confidence, and practical skills that carry into everyday life.

What nature-based means

Nature is used intentionally—not simply as scenery.

Nature-Based Pediatric Occupational Therapy uses thoughtfully selected environments, movement, play, and meaningful activities to support a child’s participation in real life.

Every experience is shaped by functional goals, the child’s needs and abilities, family priorities, access, safety, and the occupational therapist’s professional judgment.

Nature is not simply where care happens. It is one of the tools used intentionally in the process.

Built with families, not simply delivered to them

You bring the insight. We help build the path forward.

Parents and caregivers know the routines, strengths, stress points, and small details that shape a child’s day.

Novel Heights will work with families to identify meaningful priorities, understand participation across settings, clarify goals, consider environments, and connect progress with everyday life.

Family partnership does not mean asking parents to become therapists. It means making sure professional support is informed by the people who know the child best.

What Nature-Based OT may support

Growth that becomes useful in daily life.

The starting point is always the child and the activities that matter to the family—not a one-size-fits-all outdoor program.

Regulation & sensory processing

More readiness for participation.

Movement, sensory experiences, routines, and environmental supports may help children engage with greater comfort and flexibility.

Motor skills & confidence

Capability through purposeful challenge.

Balance, coordination, strength, motor planning, and fine-motor use can be developed through relevant, motivating activity.

Daily life & independence

Skills that carry beyond a session.

Goals may connect with dressing, feeding, school, play, family routines, community access, and social participation.

Where services may take place

Thoughtfully selected outdoor and real-world environments.

Individual Nature-Based OT will serve families in Paragould and Northeast Arkansas through thoughtfully selected settings that support each child’s goals and participation.

Service settings will be selected with attention to goals, access, safety, weather, and professional judgment. Specific locations and scheduling details will be shared directly with participating families.

Professional judgment comes first. Not every environment or activity is appropriate for every child or goal. Decisions will prioritize safety, access, function, individual needs, and family priorities.
